Nothing's Gonna Change My World
Break from MCAT-ing!! (Prepare for huge blocks of text!!!)

In case anyone cares, I picked my latest icon based on your votes in my poll. It was tight, but there was finally a winner. Thankies to the wonderful flist! ^_^ (And now I have the always gorgeous Van in an icon that I can display to the world!!)

Pelumi (from my Vancouver trip last year) is actually in my MCAT prep class. Which is cool, it's great to know somebody. :)

Most adorkable thing I have ever thought to myself: "You're not knocked up, you're rocked up!" :P

Van Hansis was on The View along with a bunch of other soap stars, and he was adorable, the only guy who didn't mess up the nomination announcements. :P Plus, in the very beginning, he was sitting next to Alison Sweeney, aka Sami Brady, from Days of Our Lives. Silly things like that make me happy. :D Oh, and of course Van got nominated for Outstanding Younger Actor! :) I hope he wiiiiiiins!!

I am so happy Brooke got kicked out of American Idol. Now it's Castro's turn!! :P Both Davids and Syesha in the final three will make my Idol. ;) Also, how come Ryan asked Simon's first kiss (who happened to call the show, lol!) if he's a good kisser? TOO MUCH SLAAASH. :P I did like that Ryan was like "kids, don't kiss at the age of 9, that's waaay too early!" Hells yeah, you BET it is! O_o And then tonight was just laugh-worthy. They bashed Castro's performance so much, and I was just laughing at every whack thing that happened. If it's the Davids and Syesha in the final three, as it seems it will be, I am fine with any possible outcome. :)

Ok, seriously, this slash thing is getting to me. I hear there's going to be boy-kissing on an upcoming Grey's Anatomy, and it makes me happy. ;) I really REALLY don't want to turn into a slash fangirl. I am SOOO not into the mainstream, and that's what's most popular in fandom.

Grey's Anatomy, y'all! LULZ, so, Hahn IS a lesbian. Yikes, a Fandom Secret I made is TOTALLY true now. :P Tress and I saw this coming from MIIIIILES away. Tressa, once again, WE ARE SO RIIIIIGHT! :D I mean, how else can you explain the fact that she turned McSteamy down? Also, I felt sooooo bad for Izzie throughout the episode, especially with George drifting away. But he made up for it with that last little scene which made me "awwww" all over the place. Is there still hope for George/Izzie? What can I say, I'm an optimist! Also, Addison coming back wasn't as awesome as I thought it would be, it just made me realize how crappy everyone's lives have become. Also made me wanna ship Derek/Addison again. :P The elevator scene was hella awkward, which was hilarious, and Addison giving Izzie some life back by using a Gandhi quote was wonderful. Other than that, I think the OTHER Dr. Shephard and Dr. Burke did much better this week. ;)

Leading me to talk about Lost, which was FRIGGIN' WHAAAAACK. But I loved it immensely. Claire's gone, holy crap! Charlie doesn't want Jack to raise Aaron. And Jack proposed to Kate! (Who else thought he could have afforded a bigger ring?! :P) But Kate is doing some sort of favour for Sawyer. And does Jack know he's related to Aaron? And Charlotte knows Korean! And Christian is effing with his kiddies. Seriously, Claire and Jack are like Luke and Leia. (Without the incest thing :P) Does that make Christian Darth Vader?! O_O What else, what else? Oh! Juliet is a tricky little bugger, saying that stuff to Kate about Jack loving her while he was awake. This show is too insane for words, guys. :) On a somewhat related note, it's May and my calendar's new theme is of Jin and Sun. There's a small picture of Sun and shirtless Sawyer. See, someone else secretly ships them too! ;)

The Office was alright. I mean, I thought Stanley's outburst was just random. And most of the other stuff in the episode was quite random as well. All I know is that we need more Kelly. All the time!! :P

Went to the opening of Ancaster's Future Shop. I went to go see Brian Melo and came out buying Mario Kart Wii!! XD I like the game, but it takes a bit of adjusting to use the Wii Wheel. Um, so, I talked to Brian and he was really nice. I told him about how my dad would vote crazily for an hour, then go to sleep and I would take over. He thought that was funny. :) Plus, I hugged him and he was soft. And warm. ^=^ /childish fangirling

So, Kolkata Knight Riders and King's XI Punjab had an IPL match against one another. It was termed Shahrukh Khan vs. Preity Zinta, but I just called it "The Ultimate Fight For My Love!!" ;) Lolololol, I love myself so much. :D Well, if anyone cares, Rukhie didn't show up to the actual game and Preity won. :P

I had THE weirdest dream EVER. I don't remember what the context preceding this part was, but I was in some office and both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton walked in. O_o Then I guess I made some sort of statement implying that I wasn't voting in the election, so they both started trying to convince me to vote for them. I laughed and said "Actually, I'm Canadian, so, yeah, I won't be voting." They both nodded and left, hahaha. So I said "Well, that's politics for you." because they suddenly didn't care. But then Obama came back and did continue to talk with me. Because he cares about the non-voters too. ;) This is where it got weird. Then he started whispering things to me that were milder versions of the kinds of things Reverend Wright has said. Less batshit crazy but still very much blaming racism in the US and implying conspiracies. He whispered them to me because a) he thought I might agree on some level and b) there was some guy there who was trying to scope Obama out and catch any of his faults. Dream!Me was very confused. ...And then the dream changed. This is the second time I've dreamt about politics EVER, and it was VERY different from my first dream, where I ignored Obama and he got mad. :P

I had a second crazy dream, but it was more light-hearted. I think because I was gonna go see Brian Melo at a meet-and-greet, my subconscious made me think that I was going to meet Van Hansis at a meet-and-greet. And Dream!Me was worried because I was late. Now, where exactly was this appearance happening? ...McDonalds?!! :P Lololol. Kinda sad. But I eventually made it and there were crowds and people asking Van questions. At McDonalds. XD

On the video game front, I realized that even though I hated doing it at the time, selling our Gamecube was a very smart idea. I even thought that maybe we should have kept some of the games, seeing as how Wii is backwards compatible, but even that isn't true anymore. We have the most recent Soul Calibur on PS2 and the most recent Smash Bros and most recent Mario Kart on Wii. We also have Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast. We basically have everything we really loved from the Gamecube anyway! :)

House on Monday was hilarious and I really enjoyed it. I liked Amber a LOT in this episode and kinda like the Amber/Wilson pairing now. They are actually functional! :D I also didn't mind the House/Cameron scenes this episode, wow. Though it's clear that House ships Thirteen/Cameron and there was enough House/Foreman to make me "aww". Thirteen pretending she'd dated that soap opera nurse was hilarious. Ok, the whole soap opera thing was HIGH-LARIOUS!!! First of all, I would totally be all stalkerish like House, hahaha. I could so see myself noticing that Van Hansis delivers his lines slower and being all "omg, maybe he's got ______ disease!" just because I am learning about it. ;) House was almost creepily hitting on said star at the very beginning, when they were in the limo. Which I would totally try, lulz. And I would try to squeeze soap spoilers outta him! Also, the part when House went to the soap star's dressing room and saw the Emmy was so great. Not only did it scream of "Hugh wants to win the Emmy!", it also reminded me that Van Hansis is up for an Emmy and is totally gonna win! :D Finally, House got a Jimmy of his own. No, I don't mean Wilson, I mean the high def TV! When he mentioned how awesome it was to watch his soap in HD, I knew EXACTLY how he felt! ^=^ Unfortunately, the HD stuff was short-lived. WATCHING THE SOAP IN THE DOCTORS' LOUNGE, LOLOLOL!!! (Don't worry, none of you should understand...) In conclusion, House = Me, and it was epic! XD Man, imagine Van was on House MD? *goes off into dreamland* Kutner was very cool today, I like that he's happy. ALL the time. That rocks. And if he and Thirteen keep having these nice conversations, I'm really gonna start shipping them! Mentions of the fact that Thirteen and Cameron's boobs are not good enough made me lol. Ah, and the House/Cuddy stuff at the end of the episode was very nice. Very them. He said goodnight to her just like he says goodnight to Wilson. OH-TEE-FRICKIN'-THREEEE!!! And Chase not giving a rat's ass about anything was also made of win. :)

As The World Turns just confused me more than ever. Colonel Mayer is making Ameera pledge loyalty to him, but at the same time, she's not being shown as outright evil, because she seems to be conflicted by her own loyalty. What does the Colonel want with her? Has he known about Noah's involvement with Ameera all along? How much does Ameera know? Is she actually good, but has her priorities mixed up? WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?!?!?! And it was funny when Noah asked Ameera "how did he get your number?", because all I was thinking was "how did she get her own phone?!" ;)

Also, I would just like to note that I said: Now if only Van Hansis would fix his hair up and make it all prettiful again. And now Van changed his hairstyle on the show. I'm not sure I like it any better, but still, it's like my commands are effective immediately. ;)

A few memes, as an antidote for all of this text. ^^

I'm Himawari!
XXXHOLiC character selector quiz

Wow, that doesn't surprise me a bit. Of course I'm Himawari!

Stolen from [info]plazmah, the "how I define the shows I watch" meme.

Grey's Anatomy - My "stupidly over-dramatic and love polygonally-challenged with somewhat loveable characters and quirks" show.

The Office - My "actually meant to be a comedy and not just trying to fit it in" show.

House - My "I don't care if this would never really happen in a hospital, I'd still love to work there" show.

Lost - My "your brain has been destroyed as it attempted to engage in mere logic to understand the depths of such incredible insanity" show.

As The World Turns - My "I only watch this for one couple and just fast-forward through everything else" show.

Heroes - My "I stopped watching ages ago because it was not all it was cracked up to be, but somehow ended up still writing fic for it" show.

Bones - My "Smi made me do it!" show. ;)

Escaflowne - My "I can't believe I'm still active in this fandom" show.

The Simpsons - My "endlessly awesome even when it gets kinda stupid or I've seen the episodes a bazillion times" show.

And lastly, The Friday Five.

1. What's one of the nicest things a friend has ever done for you? I hate this question because my friends are all very nice and do so many nice things for me, I bet you can't pick just one! I guess in recent times when my friends surprised me with all kinds of presents for my birthday, it was really nice of them. :)
2. What's one of the nicest things a stranger has ever done for you? Have I ever told you guys about this? Once when I was very very little I was playing with a skipping rope in the front yard and somehow, due to my craziness, it got stuck in a tree. :P I was jumping up and down trying to get it out, haha. Randomly, a man and a woman were driving down our street and the man got out of his car, took the skipping rope out of the tree and gave it back to me, and then they drove on. I have no idea why they did that or why I didn't just go ask my family for help, but I'll never forget the REALLY random act of kindness. :)
3. What is a trait in another person that you instantly admire, and that draws you to them? Confidence. If someone is a little bit timid, I don't hold it against them, but if someone just jumps right in and talks and stuff, I'll feel really comfortable to act the same and it will make me like them a lot more. This may just be because I've been in so many situations where I'm the only one who's comfortable talking and it gets REALLY awkward. :P
4. What is a trait in another person that instantly repels you, and prevents you from forming a close relationship with them? Stupid jock-like egos. Lol. Ok, usually that's just a cover for a normal and REAL person underneath, and we probably can still be friends, but it's off-putting at first.
5. Time to vent: tell us about something rotten someone has done to you. *shrugs* I'unno. All I can think of is stupid things that my siblings and I do, like spoiling movies and books for each other, hahaha. But that's not actually bad, that's, well, being a sibling! :P I don't think I've gone through anything rotten yet, but my time will come...

And right before I finish off, I have a video that are you all MUST WATCH!!!!

Chris Martin from Coldplay on the show Extras. Super lol-tastic. He makes so many jokes about himself, I almost didn't catch them all. ;)

So, in review, let's get some things straight...or not. ;) Angela's (from Bones) into girls, Thirteen (from House MD) swings both ways, Hahn (from Grey's Anatomy) is probably a lesbian, Tom (from Lost) likes to "indulge", Oscar (from The Office) was outed during the "Gay Witch Hunt" and of course, there's Luke and Noah (from As The World Turns)... Every show needs its dose of slash!! ;) So, clearly slash has not got to me...the world has just gone gay!! :D

Thank you, and good night.

I have many things to talk about!

a) Your Obama/Clinton dream at least made more sense than my one where Clinton ran Obama over with a bulldozer and then she was trying to kill us because we witnessed it, haha. I also have to say, I don't think that Reverend Wright is all that crazy. I saw his entire speech that he gave (the most recent one that's getting the most publicity) on CNN as it was happening, and I agreed with 99% of it. The theme of his speech was that white, Christian culture is considered to be the one standard of normalcy in U.S. society and everything else is thus dubbed "deficient", when really they're just "different", and he called for greater unity between races and religions. The media is just taking random bits where he would like dance or something way out of context to make him seem like a nut. Obviously, as a white person, I will never know what it's like to be a minority, but most of the negative reaction to his speech seems to be from well-off white people who are obsessed with pushing the idea that racism is over. I think it just shows the racist double-standard in this society that Obama is grilled so much over this, while John McCain is allowed to be close to pastors who claim that the U.S. deserved 9/11 for tolerating feminism, abortion, and homosexuality, and never get called on it.

Wow, that ran a lot longer than I expected. ;)

b) HAHA, I thought the exact same thing about the level of gayness in the shows that I watch! I guess that's how they're recovering from the writer's strike. ;) Remember how you were like "I'm glad Amber was eliminated from House, because there are too many people like that in health science and I don't want us to keep being represented that way"? I sorta feel that way about Hahn...on one hand, I'm glad to see gay people on Grey's, but on the other hand I'm like "Man, I don't want the token lesbian character to also be so cold-hearted, hard-assed, and not that attractive...there are already too many like that." :P

c) I miss when Lost kinda, sorta, modestly made sense.

a) Yeah, I have to admit that not everything he said was crazy, which is probably what my subconscious was trying to tell me. I guess Dream!Obama was like "she will understand, she's a minority!" and let me in on the secret that he actually DOES agree with some of the stuff Reverend Wright said. He just went about it the completely wrong way. :P

b) Hahahaha. Ok, I am hoping they give Hahn a love interest. And actually...if you think about it, if it IS Cristina, she's kinda cold-hearted and hard-assed, though she's more attractive than Hahn. So maybe Callie? Who's fun-loving? I totally see where you're coming from, though. If anything, Sloan and McDreamy need to come out, hahahaha!!! ;) Imagine Sloan was in the closet, that would break a lot of gay myths indeed!!!

c) Lol, agreed. Though it's still the best thing on TV by a great big gap. But nothing will beat first season.

ATWT - yeah, weird. In a way I would not blame Ameera for being in cahoots for Colonel since she would be in debt to him thanks to him helping her family out so much. And anyway she comes from a traditional background and it's not easy to denounce somebody when you're taught to respect elders, especially MALE elders. Even if they're batshit insane and make you do bad stuff to a schmoopy happy gay couple. XD

So I think he makes her try to de-gay Noah or just cause a rift between Nuke but she's conflicted because while she loves Noah, she sees it's not right what she's doing..

And pfffft, Angela is bi. :P

Yeah, it seemed like she was mad, but realized she had to be respectful or something, I dunno, But the intrigue is good for the storyline. Everything that's happened with Luke/Noah has been pretty obvious so far - enjoyable, but just obvious - and I'd like to stir things up a bit. :)

I know she's bi. So's Thirteen. I said she's into girls, but she's clearly into guys too. I just didn't mention it. ;)

I still think they need to bring a gay guy between them to make for a more believable stirring up.

Oh and my eternal request: BRING MADDIE BACK.

I know! They need another guy to stir things up. Or at the very least, they should break up for some reason and still angstily love each other, but not be able to be together. It's the Bollywood way! XD

I love Alex Chando, they should have never let her leave the show. Seriously!!
